a picture every day till Christmas
As promised, another picture of the Essener Lichtwochen illuminations. Has anybody ever been to Walsall during their illuminations? I have to admit that I haven't been, so I have no way of comparing. There is one thing I do know though: there is not a single deep-fried battered mars bar to be had in Essen.

Ich bin pädagogischer Leiter der Volkshochschule Essen, wo ich neben meiner Rolle als Programmbereichsleiter für Englisch die Stabstelle Digitalisierung | Erweiterte Lernwelten innehabe. Neben meiner Begeisterung für die Moodle-Commmunity, die ich unter anderem durch Beiträge zum Kooperativen Lernen auf Moodle Konferenzen unterstütze, habe ich lange Zeit an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und, nach meinem Weggang zur VHS Essen, als Lehrbeauftragter im Bereich Englische Linguistik, Fremdsprachenausbildung und Kommunikation Erfahrungen zum kooperativen Lernen mit Moodle Unterstützung sammeln können. Seit April 2013 bin ich Inhaber des Moodle Course Creator Certificate und seit Dezember 2019 Inhaber des Moodle Educator Certificate. Ich habe einen BA (HONS) in Englisch und Erziehungswissenschaft an der University of Wolverhampton und einen MA in Special Applications of Linguistics an der University of Birmingham erworben. Nach meiner Zeit an der Uni habe ich mich in England zum Lehrer für Fremdsprachen ausbilden lassen und mehrere Jahre im englischen Gesamtschulsystem unterrichtet, wo meine Leidenschaft für das Lehren mit neuen Medien geweckt wurde.

This is beautiful. I wonder how they could achieve such a delicate structure. I most definitely will have to take a closer look. Thanks for the intriguing pictures!
Yes we go to Walsall most years for the illuminations, which are on in October time (not linked to Christmas). The children love it - it's set in the arboretum, and you walk around the lake in the centre. It looks a bit more 'gimmicky' than the Essen shots, with themes taken from children's TV or book characters.
